Solution

(1) Answer:- Practice act is very important for professional engineers.CA currently regulates the use of practice and the use of the title of civil , Electrical and mechanical engineering. These three are known as Practice Acts. Only those registered are authorized to use the title practice or offer to practice in that discipline.

(2) Answer:- Hydrology:- In hydrology we study about rainfall water and amount of water runoff etc.

Storm management:- It consists in detaining ,retaining or providing a discharge point for storm water to be reused or infiltrated into the ground water.

Hydraulic:- In it we studied mechanical properties and use of liquids.

(3) Answer:- Gross precipitation:- Total amount of precipitation is called gross precipitation.

Net precipitation:- The amount of precipitation that ends up as runoff is some times called net precipitation or excess precipitation.

Effective precipitation:- It is the amount of precipitation that is actually added and stored in the soil.

(4) Answer:- Pros and cons of the rational method raises the question of whether such a hydrograph is actually rational choice. While this hydrograph allows for taking structured and informed decisions, it places serious limitations that sap the vitality of an hydrograph.

(7) Answer:- Factors affecting infiltration capacity:-

(i) Soil texture and structure .

(ii) Conditions at soil surface

(iii) Soil moisture content

(iv) Type of vegetative cover

(v) Soil temperature
