Solve the system using the substitution 2x3y 18 x 5y 7So

Solve the system using the substitution. 2x-3y = 18 ; x + 5y = 7

Solution

2x -3y = 18.............(1)

x + 5y = 7................(2)

We need to use the substitution method.

We will rewrite (2) as x= 7- 5y

Now we will substitute into (1).

==> 2( 7-5y) - 3y = 18

==> 14 - 10y - 3y = 18

==> -13y = 4

==> y= -4/13

Now we will substitute into (2) tp find y.

==> x= 7- 5(-4/13) = ( 91 + 20 /13 = 111/13

Then the answer is the pair ( 111/13, -4/13)

Solve the system using the substitution. 2x-3y = 18 ; x + 5y = 7Solution2x -3y = 18.............(1) x + 5y = 7................(2) We need to use the substitutio
