I make an antifreeze solution using four parts of a solution that is 10% antifreeze for every one part of a solution that is 40% antifreeze. What percentage of the resulting solution is antifreeze?

Let the total volume of the solution will be V

Volume of the solution containing 10% antifreeze = 4V/5

Volume of the solution containing 40% antifreeze = V/5

Since four parts of 10% is mixed with one part of 40% antifreeze solution

Percentage of resulting solution that is antifreeze

=> (4V/5 * 10% + V/5 * 40%)/V

=> 4/5 * 10% + 1/5 * 40%

=> 8% + 8% = 16%

Hence the percentag of resulting solution is antifreeze is 16%
