A student wishes to “burn off” the calories in his soda by climbing the stairs in Engineering North from the ground floor to the 4th floor, an elevation change of 30 ft. His favorite brand of soda has 12 Cal/oz. If heclimbs the stairs of Engineering North 15 times per week, how much soda in (oz) can he consume per week?

According to a study for a single floor the number of calories burnt is equal to 10 cal.

Now considering a 4th floor buliding and 15 times climbing per week the total number of caories burnt is equal to

15*10*4 = 600 calories.

Since one soda has 12 cal/ oz then the student can drink upto 600/12 = 50 oz of soda to not gain more calories and burn them off.
