Many different GFP variants in nature exist and many different mutants have been developed in laboratories.

Solution

Note: The question is incomplete but since it is related to GFP variants I am giving some information regarding the same.

Information on GFP variants

Green flourescent protein exhibits bright green fluorescence on exposure to blue light to ultraviolet range. This protein was 1st isolated from first isolated from the Aequorea victoria jelly fish. The GFP forms an internal chromophore in the absence of any accessory cofactors or enzymes. It needs merely the molecular oxygen. This property makes the GFP variants a very useful tool in molecular biology where the GFP gene from these variants is used as a reporter of expression and in making the biosensors. Other natural GFP variant include the sea pansy - Renilla reniformis. The wtGFP is used for many transgeic GFP mutants such as the GFP-Snf2H and GFP-S65T. GFP gene is made to express in many different organisms like the bacteria, yeasts, fungi, fish and mammals, including in human cells
