Solution
Ques-1: What would be the consequences if you had a genetic defect that prevented the formation of germinal centers? Explain your reasoning?
Germinal centers: These are the sites of secondary lymphoid organs where B lymphocytes proliferation; cell differentiation takes place when a specific type of antigen entered into the body followed by stimulation of humoral immune system to generate antibodies to mediate cytotoxicity. The follicular dendritic cells are the star shaped antigen presenting cells to the B cells through constant region of antibodies together trigger B cell maturation in the lymphoid organs. Therefore, this region is finally to produce secondary lymphoid follicle where opsonization of antigen takes place.
Genetic defects-related immunodeficiency diseases & hyper IgM syndrome are leading to lack of germinal centers and it is going to generate the lethal consequences such as \"defective humoral immune function\" an \"devoid of opsonization when microbial infection occurred\". This is because absence of germinal centers formation is leading to high chances for the incidence of immunedeficiency related disease due to \"defective B- and T-lymphocyte development\". Sometimes, these events are leading to formation of autoimmune diseases for example, systemic lupus erythematosus
