When the swithce remain closed , voltage across the inductor is 0, the current is detrmined by Rx
When the switch is opened , current through the inductor decreases, and this develops an opposing potential across the inductor, the voltage across the inductor is given by
V= Ldi/dt, as current i is decreasing V is -ve.
hence volatge across the inductor goes to -ve and then comes back to 0 as shown in the figure. The same is shown in the plot (c).
