Using the principle of superposition find vo in the circuit

Using the principle of superposition, find v_o in the circuit below. Use source transformations to simplify the following circuit and find the power in the 6V source Find the Thevenin and Norton equivalent of the circuit below. Repeat #3 for the following circuit.

Solution

1) Vo=Vo(40V)+Vo(50V) superposition theorem

To find Vo(40V) short 50 V source then 2.5 k and 10 k resistors in parallel

Req=2.5*10(2.5+10)=2k ohms

Vo(40V)=40*2k/(2k+6k) using voltage division rule

Vo(40V)=10 V

Similarly for Vo(50V) 6k and 10k in parallel Req=6*10/6+10)=3.75k

Vo(50V)=50*3.75k/(3.75+2.5)k=30 V

Vo=Vo(40V)+Vo(50V)=10+30=40V

Vo=40V
