The transformed profile of a tailings dyke is shown on the attached fiqure. The assumed permeability ratio is 16 and the Region 2 has an average permeability of 2.5 times the average permeability in Reqion 1. The measured phreatic surface and the location of piezometers with measured pressure heads are shown. The vertical permeability in Region 1 is approximately 1x 10 cm/sec. The starter dyke and the clay foundation is essentially impervious. Some unknown amount of water intltrat thn t from hydraulie till operations at the crest of the dyke Draw a flow net for this dyke and estimate the flow from filter 1, 2 and from the toe of the dyke.
