Solution

Let origin be at the crank centre.

So, x = 3, y = 5

Length of Horizontal projection of con rod = sqrt (6^2 - 5^2) = 3.317

Slider position r0 = x + 3.317

= 3 + 3.317

r0 = 6.317

Vector r0 = 6.317 i

Now by vector addition, r1 + r2 = r0

r2 = r0 - r1

= 6.317i - (3i + 5j)

r2 = 3.317i - 5j
