Mitral valve regurgitation has been more dangerous as the mitral valve weakness leads to backward flow of blood when the left ventricle contracts. The opening between left atrium and left ventricle is the mitral valve. The blood flows through this mitral valve from the left atrium to left ventricle and from left ventricle to aorta. After shifting blood from left atrium to left ventricle, the mitral valve gets closed and the blood from the left ventricle flows to aorta. But due to general weakness of mitral valve, it don\'t gets closed, and it leads to backward flow of blood back to left atrium. This condition has been termed as mitral valve regurgitation. Due to increased blood pressure in the atrium, the pulmonary vein which circulates blood from lungs to heart also shows high pressure. Due to this increased blood pressure within pulmonary vein, again the pressure within atrium increases. The extra blood which reaches left atrium leads to enlarge the left atrium affecting its pumping efficiency. This results in formation of blood clots within atrium. If the clot pumps from heart to an artery, leads to heart stroke. The organs get deprived and damaged as they won’t get enough blood flow from left ventricle to organs. Tricuspid valve regurgitation leads to backward flow of blood from the right ventricle to right atrium instead of to lungs. This leads to cause pressure in the blood chambers. Compared to tricuspid valve regurgitation, mitral valve regurgitation has been more dangerous as it leads to destroy the organs, lung congestion which causes heart failure and organ failure. But due to tricuspid valge regurgitation, danger is not that much, the organs receive less oxygen, swelling within the body could be observed.
