A random sample is selected from a population that is normal

A random sample is selected from a population that is normally distributed with mean = 500 and standard deviation = 40. Determine the mean and standard deviation of the sampling distribution of given the following sample sizes.

a.) n = 25

b.) n = 100

c.) n = 400

Solution

the mean for all of them will be the same of the population

x-bar = 500

the standard deviation you will calculate with this fornula sigma / srqt (n)

a)

40 / srqt (25) = 8

b)

40 / srqt ( 100) = 4

c)

40 / srqt (400) = 2
