a wheel with a radius of 80cm rolls along the ground without slipping. if the wheel rotates through an angle of 60 degrees, how far did the wheel move?

PLEASE EXPLAIN

Solution

when wheel rotates 360 degrees it completes 1 revolution

distance covered in one revolution=2pi r, here r =80cm

distance covered in one revolution=2pi*80=160pi cm

if the wheel rotates through an angle of 60 degrees it completes (60/360)=1/6 revolution

distance covered in 1/6 revolution=(1/6)160pi =83.8 cm

wheel moved 83.8cm
