A race-car is dummy counter-clockwise on a circular track with a radius of 2.4 miles The car starts at, the 3 o\'clock position and trails at a Cotman: speed of 82 mite per hours What distance (in miles) Hai the race-car traveled if the car has swept out an angle of 266 degrees? What is the measure of the angle swept out by the car (in radius) if the car has traveled 6.8 malls? Define a function h, that gives the race-car\'s distance above the horizontal diameter of the track (in mules) in trams of the numbers of hours since the race-car started driving x

Solution

(a)

we are given r=2.4 miles

angle =theta=266 degree

we know that

firstly , we will find time

in 12 hours = 360 degree

1degree = 12/360 hours

266 degree = (12/360)*266 hours

266 degree = 26/3 hours

so, time = 26/3 hours

velocity = 82 miles / hour

distance = velocity * time

distance = 82*(26/3) miles

distance = 54.6666 miles .........Answer

(b)

we are given distance = 6.8 miles

firstly , we will find time

time = distance / velocity

t=6.8/82 hours

12 hours = 360 degree

1 hour = 360/12 degree

6.8 / 82 hours = (360/12)*(6.8/82) degree

so, angle =2.48780487 degree .........Answer
