Saturated liquid water at 180 oF from a power plant condense

Saturated liquid water at 180 oF from a power plant condenser is pumped to a pressure level of 1650 psi and into a boiler. Determine the enthalpy of the water in [Btu/lbm] as it enters the boiler.

Solution

Pump work = Vf * ( p1-p2)

From steam tables

Vf=0.0165 ft3/lb

P1= 1650 psi

P2= 7.52psi

h2= 148 btu/lb

Pump work = h1-h2 = Vf( p1-p2)

Find pump work then h1= pump work +h2

h1 is enthalpy of water inlet to boiler

Please use the units as per required because am not familiar with these units
