The pulse rate of 11 people was measured before and after go
The pulse rate of 11 people was measured before and after going on a new thrill ride at the park. a researcher wants to determine if the pulse rate \"after is significantly more than the pulse rate \"before\". the results are as shown.
Subject......Before......After
1.............85.............85
2.............79.............84
3.............73.............87
4.............76.............84
5.............75.............83
6.............79.............92
7.............74.............77
8.............67.............71
9.............80.............76
10............69.............84
11............71.............80
Using a level of significane of 10%, is the pulse rate after sigificantly more than the pulse rate before?
I am not sure what equation to use I do konw that it is a T Test but not sure if this is dependednt or independednt. I think it is independent.
Show work.
Solution
This test is a paired t test.
As sample size is small t test is used.
H0: mu1 = mu2
Ha: mu1 < mu2
Left tailed test
t = 3.8027
df = 10
standard error of difference = 1.793
p value = 0.00175
As p <0.10, reject null hypothesis.
There is statistical evidence to show that
the pulse rate after sigificantly is more than the pulse rate before
