Im running a simulation in Pspice to view the transient resp

I\'m running a simulation in Pspice to view the transient response of a resistor in a RC differentiator circuit. Now, in my lab, the waveform seemed to have an abrupt rise from 0V to 1V, but in the PSpice simulation, there seems to be a slight delay in the rise when looking at the Voltage vs. Time plot. For the circuit, we used a 1V square pulse @ 1kHz connected to a 0.1uF capacitor and 1kohm resistor in series.

The first picture is a screenshot from the oscilloscope with the probe across the resistor

This second picture is from my PSpice plot of the voltage across the resistor

Solution

Ans) It might be due to in Pspice ,your simulation step size is not small enough for simulation,so that will give you an error and cause delay, try with reduced simulation step size in pspice transient settings, but in simulation or in any practical circuit you cannot have a signal which will rise to some value in no time,For any signal you require at least some time that will be depend on step size in Pspice,If you zoom you find the delay in oscilloscope also
