Which structure is highlighted Choroid retinal pigmented epi
Which structure is highlighted? Choroid retinal pigmented epithelium sciera nerve fiber layer of retina ganglionic layer
Solution
ganglionic layer is highlighted.
The figure shows the organisation of retina.
Light enters the eye through the lens and passes through the vitreous humor and the front surface of the retina. Since the tips of the roots and cones are on the side of the retina opposite the light entry, the light must pass through all the retinal cell layers before reaching the photoreceptors and stimulating them. The pigmented layer of the eye (the choroid), which lies behind the retina, absorbs light and prevents back reflection back to the rods and cones.
