A cylindrical shaped hotwater heater has a diameter of 056 m
A cylindrical shaped hot-water heater has a diameter of 0.56 m and a height of 1.17 m. If the hot-water heater is filled, determine the volume of the water in the hot-water heater in
a) Cubic meters
b) Liters
Solution
diameter = 0.56 m
So, radius, r = 0.28 meters
height = h = 1.17 meters
V = pi * r^2 * h
V = pi * (0.28)^2 * (1.17)
V = 0.091728pi
V = 0.288172 cubic meters approx
Now, in liters :
1 dm^3 = 1 L
So, 1 m^3 = 0.001 L
So, in liters, we get :
V = 0.288172 * 0.001 L
V = 0.000288172 liters
Answers are :
V = 0.288172 cubic meters
V = 0.000288172 liters
