Given

Moment required to operate a lifting jack (M) = 18 N-m

a) Fore applied (F) = 90 N

We know that Moment (M) = Force applied (F) * effective length (d)

So Effective length = M/F = 18/90 = 0.2 m

Effective length = 200 mm

b) Force applied (F) = 0.36 KN = 360 N

Effective length = 18/360 = 0.05 m

Effective length = 50 mm
