Short answer Describe the differences between the convention
Solution
Answer-5
Conventional Hydraulic Elevators : Conventional Hydraulic Elevators have a sheave that move downward from the floor of the pit of elevator that take the retracting piston when the lift goes down. Conventional Hydraulic Elevators have a maximum distance of travel is 60 feet.
Telescopic hydraulic elevator : Telescopic hydraulic elevator have a combination of ropes and a movable piston this type of elevator is also known as Roped Hydraulic Elevator and have a maximum travel distnace of about 60 feet. Telescopic hydraulic elevator do not require hole and generally used for mid-size building.
Hole-less Hydraulic Elevator : Hole-less Hydraulic Elevator use a piston at any one side of the cab. the fixed piston do not need any sheave or hole under the pit. Hole-less Hydraulic Elevator with telescopic piston have a maximum travel distance about 50 feet.
Answer- 6
Three types of cogeneration systems
1) Industrial plants: In industrial cogeneration plant system highest electricity is produced which is more than 50MW. Petroleum refining, paper, pulp and petrochemical industries comes in this section.
2) District Energy system : District Energy system uses a network of pipe for the distribution of hot water or cold water to a perticular building from the central cogeneration plant. District Energy system is generally used in government buildings, universities and hospitals.
3) Residential Building systems: In Residential Building cogeneration systems micro combustion turbine and reciprocating engines are used for the Combined heat and power plant. Residential Building cogeneration systems is generally used for a perticulr commercial buildings and produced atleast 25kW.
Answer-7
There are two types of Heat pump loops
1) Closed loop system: an antifreeze fluid flow in a closed loop in a plastic tube. A Closed loop system is generally found in three tyoes of arrangement as mentioned.
a) horizontal closed loop system
b) vertical closed loop system
c) pond or lake closed loop system
2 ) open loop system : open loop system uses water present on the surface and well. In open loop system fluis flow from heat pump system directly.
Answer- 8
Biomass technology can be used in the building as mentioned below
1) Solid bioenergy : In this case woodchips and pellets can be used as a heating source by direct combustion it in a biomass boiler.
2) Combined Heat and power : Biomass fuels are used in the generation of the power by applying the concepts of CHP (Combined Heat and power) .
