2a. Kelvin-Planck statement of second law: It is impossible for a heat engine to produce net work in a complete cycle if it exchanges heat with only with bodies at a single fixed temperature.
Calusius statement of second law: It is impossible to construct a device, which operating in a cycle will produce no effect other than transfer of heat from a cooler to a hotter body.
Second law of thermodynmics: It states that state of entropy of universe considered as an isolated system and it always increases over time. It may remain constant when process undergoes a steady state or a reversible process.
2b. Three approches are i) heating from external source, ii) polytropic compressionor, iii) isothermal compression.
