From the above table, we see that the total admission rate is higher for men than women. However, women have a higher admission rate in Sciences as compared to men. Though the women have higher admission rate in science and only a slightly low rate in arts and letters, however the total admission rate of women is quite low at 35% becuase less number of women apply for the courses as compared to men and hence only a fewer get the admission.

No, it does not prove admission discrimination on the basis of gender, rather the admission rate is low becuase of less applicants of women, thus application is the confounding variable at play.
