Ten kilograms of R134a fill a 1595 m3 weighted pistoncylinde
Ten kilograms of R-134a fill a 1.595 m^3 weighted piston-cylinder device (because the piston is \"weighted\", this makes the system constant pressure) at a temperature of -26 degree C. The container is now heated until the temperature is 100 degree C. Determine the final volume of the R-134a.^1
Solution
From R134a properties table
At -26.4 c saturated pressure is 100kpa is the pressure inside the container because the specific volume is 1.595/10 = 0.1595 m3/kg which is in between Vf and Vg at -26.4c
Now at same pressure temperature is changed to 100 c
Now from superheated tables
Specific volume is 0.3014m3/kg
Volume = 0.3014*10=3.014 m3
