Can any one explain to me what is maternal to Zygote transit
Solution
It consists of a series of events which starts with the activation of egg, continuing to activation of zygotic gene expression and ending with elimination og maternal products. It is a stage of embryonic development in which development arises from the exclusive control of zygotic genome. Degradation of maternal products and activation of zygotic genome occurs. From the zygotic genome there occurs little to no mRNA transition during these process. Nucleocytoplasmic ratio regulates the process. It represents the ratio of size or volume of the cell to size of the cytoplasm of that cell. It indicates maturity of the cell. As the cell matures, size of the nucleus decreases. The process starts with the transcription of the zygotic genes. The established silencing of the embryo must be first overcomed. Various factors contributing to the silencing include chromatin modifications leading to repression, lack of adequate transcription machinery, or lack of time in which significant transcription could have occured due to shortened cell cycles. The last step is the degradation maternal gene products leading to development. The maternally supplied mRNAs must be degraded in the embryo.
