Fitting in with the theme of “Form follows function”, explain how the structure of a capillary allows is to be a site for effective filtration. Do all capillaries have the same degree of permeability? If not, explain the features that increase the permeability of a capillary.

Solution

No all the capillary does not have same type of permeability. This depends on the function and on depending on function the structure of capillary is different.

Some of the capillary are open, where as some are closed like diaphragm. On the other hand, some capillary is having uniform intercellular spacing whereas don’t. these capillary spacing and thickness of capillary wall makes them different in permeability.
