You have a 69kV distribution substation fitted with a greate

You have a 69kV distribution substation fitted with a greaterthanorequalto transformer with the given nameplate. Currently, the transformer is set on tap position 2. Part 1 With the transformer at tap position 2 with the prevailing system voltage at 70.2kV, what is the secondary voltage (kV) on the transformer? Secondary Transformer Voltage

Solution

sol: using the Name plate details of the transformer

At tap -2 position

Turns ratio (N2/N1) = (V)lv / (V)hv

= 13200/68800

= 33/172

The given transformer is connected to 70.2KV supply

Therefore, Induced voltage in the secondary LV side = Turns ratio * Primary (HV) voltage

= (33/172)*70200

= 13468.6 volts
