If you are monitoring a 1 V source on an oscilloscope and the scope measures the signal as 10 V, identify two possible causes.

One of the possible cause is the probe which connects 1 V source to oscilloscope is 10x probe ,which means it will give a gain of 10 ,because of that 1 V looks like 10 V in scope

Another reason may be due to DC offset added because incorrect 0V position in the scope,adjusted by putting in GND
