How long will it take to download a 5GByte movie on a 10 Mbps network.

Hint: bps is used to represent bits per second and Bps is used to indicate Bytes per second. Show the calculations step by step.

Solution

First Convert both data into same unite called kbps:

                 5GigaByte to kbps.

                      We know that

                                               1 Gigabyte=8000 megabit .

                                           So 5 Gigabyte= 40000 megabit.

                                1 megabit= 1024 kbps

                               So 40000 megabit= 40000 *1000 kbps.

                          Same for 10 Mbps to kbps = 10*1000

Time taken for Downloading the file will be= 40000 *1000/10*1000

                                                                              =4000 seconds.
