Suppose there are two raffles. In each raffle there are 100 tickets, 10 of which are winners. If you buy one ticket to each raffle, what is the probability of your having two winning tickets?
Solution
Probability of winning in each raffle is 10/100 = 0.1
Since the two raffles are independent, probability of winning in both is 0.1 * 0.1 = 0.01
