Explain the following IRDPTI or Initiation Requirements Prog
Explain the following.
IRDP&TI or Initiation, Requirements, Program&Test and Install/Implement.
DDBD or Define, Design, Build or Buy, and DO IT (Implement) and 6 sigma methodology
Solution
Initiation:
The initiation phase is the begining of the project. In this phase, the idea for the project is explored and elaborated.
The goal of this phase is to examine the feasability of the project. In addition, decisions are made concerning who is to carry out the project, which parties will be involved and whether the project has an adequate base of support among those who are involved.
The following questions are in a position to be answered in this phase.
To prevent the devolopment of false expectations concerning the results of the project, it makes sense to explicitly agree on the type of the project that is being started:
A sponsor may think that the project will produce a working piece of softwarem while the members of the team must first examine whether the idea itself is technically feasable or not.
Requirements:
Once the initiation process have been sucesfully completed then have to be focussed on the requirements that are essential for the devolopment and implementation such as Resources, machine power, man power and so on.
Install/Implement:
The project/System takes shape during the implementation phase.
This phase involves the construction of the actual project result. Programmers are occupied with encoding adn the designers are involved in designing the graphic material/content.
The implementation phase is the doing phase, and it is important to maintain the momentum.
At the end of the implementation phase, the result is evaluated according to the list of requirements created in the definition phase.
Those who are involved in a project should keep in mind that it is hardly ever ossible to achieve a project result that precisely meets all of the equirements that were originally specified in the definition phase.
Definition:
After the plan is approved, the project then enters into the defintion phase where the actuall requirements of the project will be defined/stated.
It is important to identify the requirements as early as possible in the process
The factors are:
It is very important that all the parties that are involved in the project are able to collaborate during the definition phase, particularly the end users who will be using the project result.
The fact that the end users are often not the ones that order the proect perhaps explains why thery are often ignored.
Design:
The list of requirements that is devoloped in the definition phase can be used to make desing choices.
In this design phase, one or more designs are devoloped and then under the matching criteria during the implementation the best one can be selected according to the end user requirements.
6 Sigma methodology:
One of the most difficult challenges in Six Sigma is the selection of the most appropriate problem to attack, there are generally two ways to generate the projects:
Six Sigma has two key methodologies:
DMAIC methodology consists of five steps:
DMADV methodology consists of five steps:
DFSS Methodology consists of fve types:
