Is it possible to completely eliminate genetic variation Is
Solution
It is not possible to eliminate genetic variation completely because it is due to the changes in the DNA components or genes between two offspring. This is a change in allelic frequency pertaining to a single chromosome locus with higher incidence of genetic variation. Therefore, these changes are induced by mutations, homologous recombination during gamete formation via reduction division. A majority of cases are associated with \"elimination of genetic variation\" due to \"natural selection of individuals of higher fitness remained (have genetic variation)\" in the population & those with \"less fitness with genetic variation\" will be eliminated. Therefore, genetic variation is mainly form heterozygote and decreases inbreeding depression result in no complete elimination from the population
Note: Inbreeding results in decreased heterozygous alleles and increase in homozygous alleles. This results in increased chances of inheriting the deleterious alleles or the recessive alleles, which would cause increase in genetic disorders and decrease in allelic diversity
