Hello I am working with the greatest common divisor My quest

Hello I am working with the greatest common divisor. My question is this: gcd(-89, -98). I have already found that it is 1.

The second part of the question says that now I have -89x - 98y = 1, find x and y. Can someone explain to me how to find x and y. By the way my class is discrete math. Thanks

Solution

Look, Dear...

there is only one equation So, in this put the value of x as your wish and you will get the value of y,

So, you can find so many values...

as

Put, x=0,

-89(0)-98y=1

-98y=1

y=-1/98

Now, Put x=1

-89(1)-98y=1

-98y=1+89

-98y=90

y=90/-98

Like this you can have different values.
