Find the area of the triangle below Carry your intermediate
Find the area of the triangle below. Carry your intermediate computations to at least four decimal places. Round your answer to the nearest tenth.
Solution
To find the area of triangle we have to use the following formula
Area=sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b(s-c))
Where s= (a+b+c)/2
a=17km
b=13km
c=20km
s=(17+13+20)/2=25
Area=sqrt(25(25-17)(25-13)(25-20))
= sqrt(25× 8×12×5)= sqrt 12000=109.5 km2
