1 Write the equation of the graph after the indicated transf

1- Write the equation of the graph after the indicated transformation(s).
The graph of y =x is shifted 6 units to the left. Then the graph is shifted 8 units upward.

2- Simplify. Write your answer in the form a + bi, where a and b are real numbers.(5 - -49) + (1 +-4 )

3- List the symmetries of the given function, if there are any. Otherwise, state \"No symmetry\". f(x) = 7x5 + 8x3

Solution

(x+6) means that you add 6 to whatever the x value is, which is why it moves left, all the x values act like they\'re 6 units bigger

2. +8 adds 8 to the outcome. (make sure the +8 is outside of the )

b) (5 - -49) + (1 +-4 )

= (5 - 7i) +(1+2i)

= 5+10i -7i -14 (i^2)

= 5+3i -14 (-1)

=5+3i+14 = 19+3i =a+ib, where a=19,b=3

3) Replace x with (x) and y with (y) to check if there is xaxis , yaxis , or origin symmetry.Symmetric with respect to the origin.
