If you were to use a binomial system to identify the members of your family (mother, father, sisters, brothers), how would you write their names so that your system would most closely approximate that used to designate species?

Binomial nomenclature has certain rules to be followed while naming any organism. These rules are;

1. The scientific name should consist of two words.The first part of the name identifies the genus to which the species belongs; the second part identifies the species within the genus.

2. Both the words must be written in Latinized.

3. First letter of genus name is written in Capital and first letter of species name is wriuten in small.

For example scientific name of humans is Homo sapiens.

Humans belong to genus Homo and sapiens is the specific name.
