Find the domain of each function. y = squareroot x y = squareroot x + 3 y = squareroot x - 3

a) y = sqrt x

domain is all x values where a function exists

since we cannot take square root of negative numbers

therefore, domain is all values of x greater than equal to 0

interval notation [0 , infinity )

b) y = sqrt x + 3

domain is all values of x greater than equal to 0

[ 0 , infinity )

c) y = sqrt x - 3

[ 0, infinity )
