Glands are located in both stomach and intestinal walls to facilitate the food digestion.

Gastric glands are present in stomach walls that release gastric juice whereas intestinal walls have crypts called as crypts of lieberkuhn also called as intestinal crypts found in epithelium of large and small intestine and release digestive juices.

Both the walls of stomach and intestine are made up of simple columnar epithelium. Intestine has a brush bordered appearance due to presence of villi to increase the surface area for absorption of food.
