Total investors= 8+16+64+128+1+2+32=251

For exactly one out of these(B,S,M), we will look for the part of circle which is not common in more than one of these.

Here, In B, 1 is not common with S and M.

In Circle of S, 8 investors only own S.

In M, 32 only own M.

Total investors who own exactly one are (1+8+32) = 41

Case 2,

Number of investors who do not own both stocks and bonds will be = (total investors - those who own both stocks and bonds)

Those who own both stocks and bonds are = 16 + 64=80

as they are common in B and S circle

Number of investors who do not own both stocks and bonds will be =251-80=171
