In one complete sentence, explain why Taq DNA polymerase used in PCR rather than DNA polymerase isolated from E. coli which grows best at 37oC?

Solution

After each round of replication, DNA is subjected to denaturation by high temperature to serve as template. At this high temperature, enzymes also denature as they are heat sensitive. Taq polymerase is heat resistant. Hence it is used instead of E.coli DNA polymerase.
