What is the reason and purpose of sub-netting in TCP/IP networks?

Solution

subnetting is mainly used to break the network in to smaller parts or subnets. The main reasons or purpose we use these in TCP networks are:

- To speed up the network the traffic between the protocols and all in the network must be free so because of this subnetting it let to be possible because of dividing these in to number of subnets.

- It can be used to connect to different topologies such as ethernet, fddi to different routers.

- In TCP/IP networks subnetting avoids the cable lengths when it is used in the case of using large cable wires.
