A bus starts with 6 people and stops at 10 different stops. Assuming that passengers are equally likely to depart at any stop, find the probability that no two passengers leave at the same bus stop.

Note: I already know the answer but unclear as to how they arrived at that answer.

Solution

There are 10^6 ways that people can get off at any stop.

But, so that there are no two passengers getting off at the same station, there are only 10P6 ways.

Thus,

Probability = 10P6 / 10^6 = 0.1512 [answer]
