Find out i for t > 0 in the circuit shown in Figure 1.

Solution

For DC capacitor act as open circuit and inductor act as short circuit

So current will flow from 20 volts to 6 ohms to 4 ohms then to finally 20 volts

Total resistance R = 6+4 = 10 ohms

Current i = V/R

=20/10

=2 Amperes

Therefore I = 2 A
