Two cars leave the same place at the same time and travel in the same direction. ONe car is traveling 65 mph and the other is traveling at 50 mph. How long will it take for the two cars to be 97.5 miles apart?

Solution

Two cars are travelling with the speed of 65 mph and 50 mph.

So, the relative speed of the cars = 65-50 = 15 mph.

Two cars has to be 97.5 miles apart.
So, distance between the cars is 97.5 miles.
Therefore, time= 97.5 /15 = 6.5 hours
