plz explain the last question base on the two upper parts

A patient is suffering from recurrent bacterial infections. The physician orders protein electrophoresis with the following densitometer results. An immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) was also ordered and the following results are given below. Hypothesize (guess) about what type of immunological defect could be causing this patient\'s recurrent bacterial infections.

Solution

Part A shows that gamma globulin fraction is normal.

Part B shows that one of the protein component is absent in the patient serum.

I guess, k chain of antibody is not being produced in this patient and as a result defective antibodies are being produced. K chain deficiency is my guess.

You may also consider X-linked agammaglobulinemia where gamma globulins are completely absent.
