gas turbine works on the principle of brayton cycle and the efficiency is improve by the process of regeneration.

regeneration is the process in which high temperature gas at the exit of turbine is utilised for heating the cold air coming out from the compression and before entering the combustion chamber.

effect of regeneration-

1-no change in compressor and turbine output

2-net work output remains the same

3-both heat supplied and heat rejected decreases

4-cycle efficiency increases

efficiency can also be improve by proper washing of compressor
