Mold spores are an important allergen throughout the United States. The spores are produced by fungi that typically grow in damp areas of houses, frequently in the basement. The toxicity of spores can be measured as a continuous variable. A mycologist is interested in whether toxicity varies among houses and whether there is variability between fungal colonies within a house. He randomly selects 12 houses within Lawrence, Kansas. From each house, he collects 3-5 colonies. Each colony is then cultured in the lab and 4 measurements of toxicity are taken for each colony. Perform an appropriate statistical analysis to address the following questions:
