Reinforcement

Reinforcement, in behavioral psychology, is a consequence which strengthens an organism’s behavior in future whenever that particular behavior is preceded by antecedent stimulus.

There is 2 types of reinforcement-

For eg- A mother giving candy to her son when he comes first in class. If the frequency of coming first in class increases the candy becomes positive reinforce.

For eg- A person applying ointment on the area of the bug bite to soothe itching. If the particular ointment is effective the usage of the ointment by that person will increase which will help in soothing the itch, which is the negative reinforce.
