a) (2.7)(8.632) = 3x8x10³

                                = 24x10³ ---- estimated value

                        = 23.30 x 10³ -------- value obtained by using calculator

b) (3.600 x 10^-4)/45 = (4 x 10³ x 10^-4)/45

                               = (4 x 10^-1)/45

                               = 9 x 10^-4 -------------- estimated value

                               = 8 x 10^-4 -------------- calcukated value

c) 2.365 + 125.2 = 2 + 125 (if a number added to second number, neglect the much smaller number)

                          = 127 -------- estimared solution

                         = 127.565 ---- calculator solution

d) (4.753 x 10⁴) - (9 x 10²) = (5 x 10⁴ x 10⁴) - (9 x 10²)
