Can someone please explain to me how to get the P-value in this question, that\'s the only thing I don\'t understand how to get. How do I get the P-value using either the degrees of freedom chart or using statcrunch ??
Suppose a mutual fund qualifies as having moderate risk if the standard deviation of its monthly rate of return is less than 4%. A mutual-fund rating agency randomly selects 27 months and determines the rate of return for a certain fund. The standard deviation of the rate of return is computed to be 2.89%. Is there sufficient evidence to conclude that the fund has moderate risk at the a = 0.01 level of significance? A normal probability plot indicates that the monthly rates of return are normally distributed. What are the correct hypotheses for this test? The null hypothesis is H0: =sigma = 0.04. The alternative hypothesis is H1: sigmaSolution

to get p value for chi square = 13.572 with df = 27-1 =26.
The p value shown is 0.97822 i.e.sigma not equal to 0.04
Hence for sigma <0.04 , 1-0.97822 = 0.022.
